As some of you know, a few days ago, Jen and Kaylee came to visit me here at my house in Utah for fun. We had a blast. Kaylee was a sweet little angel and her and Mason had oodles of fun together. He still wakes up in the morning and asks for Kaylee. I practically cry myself to sleep at night because seeing her for a week only made me wish I had her forever. It was really nice though, knowing that Nancy is so excited to have her back. She's such an awesome sister to me and mom to Kaylee and Emma and needed a little break (which I can totally relate to. I need a break from just Mason sometimes!). Which worked out for us both, because I happened to need time with Kaylee! We had some fun outings including visiting the splash pad at the Gateway in Salt Lake. Both kids loved it and had a blast. Also, we fed the ducks with Shannon and Weston and Davin at Gardener Village in Sandy. We also went to a Verite barbecue where Mason completely covered himself in dirt. By the time we realized what was going on, it was way too late. He was already head to toe covered in dirt. So what did we do??? Did we clean him off and scold him? Nope. We took pictures and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Poor kid will never learn because we just think he's too cute. Then he passed out in his carseat after we stripped him down (to avoid getting the dirty clothes in the car) and took pictures of that too. All in all it was a wonderful visit. I just wish it could have lasted longer. Wynn gets his tonsils out tomorrow, so wish us luck!
Remind me to wash that bedding ;)
Are you kidding me? Is she seriously this gorgeous?
Mason is such a little performer! He does animal sounds on call now. All you have to do is ask! He is at the ready to impress anyone and everyone. I never thought my little crazy would be a ham! Anyways, enjoy the video of his animal sounds and the pictures of him interrupting Wynn's Sunday afternoon nap ;)
Wynn and Mason and I took a trip to Wyoming a few weekends ago for a little short Burton family reunion. There were a bazillion people there which stressed Mason out. He was cranky the entire weekend and I was so sad that he wasn't nice to the people who were so sweet to him and just wanted to cuddle him. Oh well. Mason isn't the snuggliest kid so I guess I can't hope for him to change that for one weekend just because I wish it. There were a few times that he had fun though (which are the pictures of him in his black shirt) when we were outside playing frisbee and looking at flowers. It was really cute. Also, this past weekend Wynn's work had a little barbecue for the design department. Mason's favorite part was the trampoline. He would get up on it and start saying "bye-shee bye-shee!" Which translates from Mason to English as bouncy bouncy. It was soooo cute to watch. He loved it when the other kids bounced him around. I can't believe how crazy he is. He's my little evil kinevil (sp?). Also, I finally finished the last Twilight book which is good because I will finally get sleep instead of staying up until odd hours of the night. But... I am of course so sad that I don't have anymore books to anticipate. That part is making me really sad. Oh well, life goes on :) Just as a reminder, this is a spoiler free blog, but if you are as obsessed as I am, tell me what you thought of the book! (I guess don't read the comments if you haven't finished it then).
So, I've been really happy lately, and I've been trying to pin down exactly why. And I think there are a few reasons. First of all, I love my pills ;) I admit it, I've got some good stuff! I know some people might be embarrassed to say something like that, but I have suffered from depression for most of my life, and to finally have some relief is a blessing. Also, Mason is becoming infinitely more fun. Wynn and I play with him every day and just laugh and laugh at the funny things he does. I know we won't always have such a sweet tiny little family (not that I'm not excited for it to grow) so I want to soak up every moment of him being my baby. I love watching Wynn play with him and burst at the seams about wanting to tell me how cute he was when he was putting him to bed. He's such a good Dad :) I'm also happy because the 4th Stephenie Meyer book finally came out and I am re-reading the first 3 to refresh my memory. So that has put some excitement into life. Don't tell me what happens if you've already read it!!! Also, I have been blessed with some new friends here in Utah. It's a lot easier since I'm not traveling as much as I used to to make friends with people that live close by. One new friend I've been so happy to have found is Shannon. She is Wynn's co-worker's wife so her and I get to complain about them getting home from work and not getting paid enough etc.. On top of that, she has two little boys named Weston (2 and a half) and Davin (4 months). They are both absolutely adorable (which you can see from the pictures below) and Davin laughs at me all the time. Apparently I'm more animated and dramatic when I talk than I thought. Because anytime I start talking he laughs at me. I guess I would laugh at me too if I could watch me! Mason looooves all 3 of them and asks for "Shinnin" and "Weshtin" multiple times every day. Anyways, it's so nice to have people you can call to hang out and who can go see chick flicks with when your husband won't see them with you. So that's an update on why I am so happy right now. I am blessed!!!
