Alright guys, I am officially, humbly, and desperately seeking help. Mason has flooded my kitchen twice and my master bathroom twice. The kitchen incidents happened while I was upstairs doing something and he was downstairs. He did my bathroom for the first time yesterday morning and then again this morning. Yesterday wasn't so bad because I was blow-drying my hair in our guest bathroom (because the outlets in the master bathroom didn't work at the time) so he was only left to himself for about 5 minutes and couldn't do that much damage. I came in to check on him when my hair was dry, and he was on the bathroom counter throwing as much water as he could all over the bathroom. There was not a dry spot on the entire bathroom floor. The very edge of the carpet got a little wet, but not too bad at all. I scolded him very firmly and sent him to his room for about 10 minutes. He was very upset. That was yesterday.
Early this morning, Wynn kissed me goodbye and left. Apparently he let Mason out of his room and I didn't realize it. I was so sleepy when Wynn left that I didn't notice Mason in the room. I was still dreaming and thought I heard Wynn showering (like I always hear in the morning while I'm catching my last few Z's before Mason wakes up) I was still half asleep and didn't remember that Wynn had already left for the day. When my brain began to surface and make sense of what was happening, I sprang out of bed to find Mason on the bathroom counter again. This time, both sinks were stopped up and overflowing. The whole floor was a puddle again, but this time there was so much water it was 3 feet into my bedroom carpet and 3 feet into my closet carpet. I again scolded him (like I have never scolded him before) and took everything out of his room (toys, lamps, books, rocking chair) and left only the mattress and bookshelf. I then put him in there and shut the door and didn't let him out for about 15 or 20 minutes this time. When the time out was over, I had a talk with him and made sure he knew what he had done wrong and to never ever do it again. To top it all off, when we finally went downstairs to get breakfast, there was a huge puddle of water on my dining table. The water had leaked all the way through the ceiling and ran down my chandelier onto the table. Now I am waiting for a flood specialist and a carpet cleaner to call me back to give me a quote on getting it taken care of. I am soooooo completely at my wits end! I love Mason so much, but I need to take some drastic action.
Please please please leave a word of advice if you have any. If you have my number, you can call me if you have a second. But I really don't know what to do. Obviously I am trying my best to keep a better eye on him, and I am very embarrassed that each times I wasn't in the room. But the sneaky little booger knows exactly when to sneak off and start his evil work when my back is turned. He is old enough now that he knows better. Nancy already suggested I take the stoppers out of the sink (which I am going to do) but I really need to know what to do about him.
Please please please help me. Thanks.
