My big boy is 2!!!

So I finally got around to posting about Mason's birthday party from this past Saturday. My little boy is 2!!! I can't even believe it. I love him so much and can't believe that I've been blessed to keep him for 2 years already. I can't wait to see what happens next :) The pictures start off early in the day with him and us just goofing around. We got some pictures of the table before it was devoured and a few pictures of things like the cars wall poster and his AWESOME cake. He loved all of his presents (thank you so much to our friends Ian and Shannon and Ben and Bethany for the wonderful presents. Mason has been playing with the airplanes and potato head every day since he got them!) and Wynn and I got him some cars toys and a huge Sully stuffed animal (the monster from monsters inc. his favorite movie right now) He has been asking me to give him "Ligh Laquee cake" every day since the party too. (Lightning McQueen cake) He's so funny. And finally, the last few pictures are from the next day when we woke up to find snow outside our house! We also realized that since we had the ac on from the day before and forgot to change it to heat that our house was FREEZING that morning! So we took a picture of the thermostat as proof.

So Big!

I haven't gone through my video footage in awhile and finally got through some tonight. I came across a clip I have of when Jen and Kaylee were here in Utah to visit. Mason and Kaylee are so cute together. I miss her so much it hurts :( It's okay though because I get to see her in November!!! Yay!

Mason's new bed!

Well, we finally got Mason a "Big Boy Bed" It took a couple nights of having a child-proof doorknob thingie inside his door so he couldn't get out and run wild in the house instead of going to bed. We still keep it on his doorknob, but he hasn't tried to get out for awhile now. He looooooves to jump on it (which we can't let him do at night because he gets VERY hyper when he does and won't go to sleep). I am somewhat of a mattress snob and couldn't settle on getting him a cheapie one because I know he's going to have it for a very long time and also because I want my precious little guy to be comfortable! That being said, I spent less than half of what you would pay in a typical retail store on it. Those places mark those things up so much! It has like a 4 inch euro-pillow top and is soooooo soft and comfy that I wish it was king sized and in my room.

There are some pictures of Mason throwing a tantrum (pre-hair cut as you can see) that I thought were hilarious also. We got his hair cut yesterday (his first cut where I let the stylist actually cut it instead of just trim what was hanging over his eyes) and he looks SO cute! I will post pictures of it as soon as I get them.

Cookie mush

My good friend Shannon taught me an easy quick (yet very delicious) chocolate chip cookie recipe recently. I was hanging out one night and felt like making some, so I started whipping them up. Half way through mixing I realized that I don't own any baking powder or baking soda (I am not a frequent baker. I mostly buy slice and bake cookies) I was really in the mood for my cookies though, so I went through with it. What resulted was a cookie salad. When I scraped them off the cookie sheet with my spatula, they scrunched up and turned to mush. So I of course ate them anyways and they were delicious! They just turned out a lot less visually appealing than most cookies. I thought it was kind of funny and worthy of a blog posting. Also, Wynn is always sending me funny pie charts and diagrams. So I included his latest ones.

Guh-lashes

I recently bought some sunglasses for Wynn/me. I thought he would like to wear them, and I equally liked the way they looked on me. They're really men's glasses but I am done with overpriced girl sunglasses that look like huge bug eyes. So instead I opted for a 70's oversized aviator look. Anyways, long story short, Mason loves them too! Anytime he finds them, he grabs them and puts them on and says "guh-lashes" (glasses). He always adds extra syllables to words. It's so cute. We got some pictures of him taking over the guh-lashes and goobery-finger printing them to death ;)
